  • application form;
  • consent to the collecting and processing of personal data;
  • сa scanned copy of the document on previous education with transcript (points) (if the document is not in English, its translation into English is required);
  • a scanned copy of the passport (data page with photo).

After getting approval from Sumy State University, you must conduct payment for invitation and visa support.

To obtain a long-stay visa (type D), a prospective student must contact the Ukrainian Embassy in their country or the country issuing the visa which is indicated in the invitation to study. In the case of remote admission, opening a visa is not required.

  • the original and a certified copy of the document on complete general secondary education;
  • the original and a certified copy of the appendix to the document on complete general secondary education with the information on academic attainments;
  • two copies of a document certifying the identity of the foreign citizen or stateless individual (data page with photo) with its notarized translation into Ukrainian (if the original document is not in English, its notarized translation into English is required);
  • 4 photos size 30x40 mm.

The documents specified in 3-4 must be:

  • officially certified in the issuing country and legalized by a relevant foreign representation office of Ukraine, unless otherwise stipulated by international treaties of Ukraine;
  • translated into Ukrainian with a notarized copy and translation in duplicate;
  • if the documents are not in English, their certified translations into English are required.

In the case of remote admission, you are required to send all the above-mentioned documents by post except for the original education documents which are to be provided upon first crossing the state border of Ukraine and upon arrival at the university.

  • the original and a certified copy of the document on complete general secondary education;
  • the original and a certified copy of the appendix to the document on complete general secondary education with the information on academic attainments;
  • two copies of a document certifying the identity of the foreign citizen or stateless individual (data page with photo) with its notarized translation into Ukrainian (if the original document is not in English, its notarized translation into English is required);
  • 4 photos size 30x40 mm;
  • in the case of resuming the studies, an academic certificate issued by a foreign/Ukrainian higher education institution.

The documents specified in 3-4 and 7 must be:

  • officially certified in the issuing country and legalized by a relevant foreign representation office of Ukraine, unless otherwise stipulated by international treaties of Ukraine;
  • translated into Ukrainian with a notarized copy and translation in duplicate;
  • if the documents are not in English, their certified translations into English are required.

Admission tests:

  • English/Ukrainian language proficiency test;
  • subject-specific test depending on the chosen specialty (see the subjects table).

In the case of remote admission, you are required to send all the above-mentioned documents by post except for the original education documents which are to be provided upon first crossing the state border of Ukraine and upon arrival at the university.

  • research proposal in the desired field of study;
  • list of published scientific works and inventions in Ukrainian or English, duly certified at the candidate's place of work/study.

  • officially certified in the issuing country and legalized by a relevant foreign representation office of Ukraine, unless otherwise stipulated by international treaties of Ukraine;
  • translated into Ukrainian with a notarized copy and translation in duplicate;
  • if the documents are not in English, their certified translations into English are required.

Admission tests:

  • English/Ukrainian language proficiency test;
  • foreign language proficiency test (English / German / French);
  • field-specific exam.

  • thematic plan of the thesis for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Sciences (in Ukrainian/English).

Upon arrival and enrollment at the university, foreign students are issued a temporary residence permit in Ukraine.
