The student body of the Institute counts over 2,800 persons; among them are 250 medical interns, 120 PhD students, and 40 resident doctors. The Institute hosts students from more than 50 countries of the world.

Opportunities for students

The best Ukrainian and foreign academics work at the Institute, which, among other things, enabled  international accreditation of the Master's educational program "Medicine" in 2022. This international certificate proves that the Institute offers high-quality training of specialists at European standards and speaks for full compliance of this program's quality, content, methods, and training technologies with international quality standards in higher education and the requirements of the World Federation for Medical Education. The diplomas in medicine gained at the Academic and Research Medical Institute of Sumy State University enjoy national and international recognition.

The students have access to modern scientific laboratories, practice-oriented, virtual, simulation, and Library and Information centers. All students are provided with places in dormitories and access to different objects of sports infrastructure for their full and comprehensive development.
